Past Life Regression

Past life regression is a type of hypnosis in which a person is gently lead through hypnosis back to an earlier time in their life or to an earlier life (if one believes that is possible). Some clients experience this as if watching a movie and others feel as if it actually is happening to them. Whether it’s your subconscious’s mind that sends you on a journey to a different time and place or you actually believe that your spirit travels back in time to another life, I believe there is some value in it for the client.

I’ve had many clients come to me and ask to be regressed so that they can “see” who there were in a previous life. In the past, I did that quite often. But it never changed anything for the person in this life. When I began working with clients who had some fear or phobia that they weren’t able to get rid of through the regular types of therapy, they would come to me for regression. Some of the stories that these clients describe while hypnotized and regressed are so unique, that it’s hard for me to believe that they made it up. Their voices often change, the words they use change, and sometimes there’s a marked difference in the way their bodies appear. Several of my clients later reported being able to be in crowded areas or be able to swim with their face in the water (things they could never do prior to being regressed).

Brian Weiss, MD, brought the practice of past life regression into the public eye with his various books, the best known is his first book, Many Lives, Many Masters. If you’re interested in finding out more about past life regression, I suggest you read the book.

Weight Loss and Hypnosis

I’ve had a lot of inquiries lately about hypnosis and weight loss and I wish I had a simple answer to the question, “how long does it take?” If only hypnosis for weight loss was as easy as hypnotizing the subject and giving the suggestion that you will no longer be interested in food and will stop eating forever. Sounds good, but isn’t very helpful if the client wants to go on living.

So the best answer I have to the question, “how long does it take?” is: “depends.” It depends on a lot of factors. My clients and I work together through a series of sessions, each one helping to reduce or remove habits and behaviors that they have which causes them to over-eat, eat the wrong foods, eat at the wrong times, etc. It’s a process, just like most things in life that we want to change. We shift the behaviors, change the habits, and give suggestions to eat nutritious foods, drink plenty of water, enjoy exercises, and do all the beneficial things that are good for your body and your health.

Hypnosis does help – and working together with you as a team, we can help you lose the weight you’ve been wanting to lose.

Daily Affirmations

Using affirmations first thing in the morning and just before you go to bed at night can help shift any habit. Saying the affirmations 10 times (out loud or in your mind) will do the trick. Try counting on your fingers each time you say the affirmation so that you know you’ve done 10. You will find that during the day you will repeat the affirmations when you least expect it. Habits take 21 – 30 days to change, so try this for 21 days.
