What is hypnosis and how does it work?
Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation and focused awareness. In this relaxed state, the subconscious mind becomes more open and receptive to helpful suggestions, making it easier to shift thoughts, habits, emotional patterns, and responses.

How do I know if I can be hypnotized?
Hypnosis is a natural state that most people enter every day — such as when you miss a turn while driving or become absorbed in a TV show. Because it’s a natural process, almost everyone can be hypnotized as long as they’re willing to relax and participate.
Can a hypnotist make me do something I don’t want to do?
No. All hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis. You remain aware and in control throughout the session. You will only accept suggestions that match your personal values and goals.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No. You cannot get stuck. At the end of a session, I guide you back to full awareness. Even without counting out, you would naturally return to a normal state or ease into sleep because of the relaxation.
Will I reveal too much while I’m hypnotized?
No. Hypnosis does not make you confess or lose control. You will never reveal anything you don’t want to. You can choose how much you share — just as you do when fully awake.
What’s the difference between the conscious and subconscious mind?
The conscious mind is the thinking, judging part of the mind — where logic and willpower live.
The subconscious mind holds habits, beliefs, memories, emotions, and automatic responses. Hypnosis helps quiet the conscious mind so the subconscious can accept new, healthier patterns.
Is hypnosis dangerous?
No. Hypnosis is very safe when practiced by a trained professional. Most people finish their session feeling calm, refreshed, peaceful, and more in control of their emotions and thoughts.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients follow my three-session process: one intake and two hypnosis sessions. This structure works beautifully for the majority of people. However, some concerns are more complex and may require additional sessions. I will always be honest about what I recommend, and we’ll make decisions together.
What if my mind is too busy or I can’t relax?
This is one of the most common concerns I hear, especially from people who struggle with overthinking or anxiety. You do not need a perfectly quiet mind to be hypnotized. You can think, fidget, analyze, or wonder whether it’s working — and hypnosis will still be effective. Your mind can wander, and that’s completely normal.
What if I’ve never been hypnotized before?
Most clients I see have never experienced hypnosis before. I explain everything clearly during your intake so you always feel comfortable and in control. You don’t need any prior experience.
What if I don’t go “deep” enough?
Depth is not what creates results. What matters is your willingness to follow the process and allow your mind to relax at whatever level is right for you. Some people feel very relaxed, others feel simply calm — both are equally effective.
Will I remember what happens during hypnosis?
Yes. Most people remember everything. You are aware, listening, and participating the entire time. You may feel deeply relaxed, but you are not unconscious.
Can hypnosis help if I’ve tried everything else?
Yes. Many of my clients come to me after trying multiple approaches without success. Hypnosis works with the subconscious mind — the place where habits, emotional patterns, and automatic responses are stored — which is why it can be effective when other methods haven’t helped.
Do you offer online sessions? Are they effective?
Yes. I offer online hypnosis and coaching sessions through secure video appointments. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person work, and many clients appreciate the comfort and convenience of working from home.
What ages do you work with?
I work with adults and older teens. If you have questions about whether hypnosis is right for a younger teen or a specific situation, feel free to reach out and we can discuss it.
What if I fall asleep during hypnosis?
It’s okay if you drift toward sleep. Your subconscious mind continues to listen and respond even if you lightly doze. If you fall fully asleep, I simply guide you back gently or allow the session to unfold naturally.
What if I get emotional during hypnosis?
It’s normal for emotions to arise when we’re working with memories, beliefs, or past experiences. You are safe, supported, and never pushed. Emotions are simply a sign that something inside is ready to shift, heal, or release — and I guide you through that process with care.
